Connecting Through Art

Art brings people together. It fosters a sense of community, reduces stress, encourages creative thinking, boosts self-esteem, increases empathy, and more. From poetry and literature to music to performance to the visual arts, art comes in many forms. At a time when we are all operating at a distance, it is more important than ever to foster a sense of community through the arts!

How to Participate

There are many ways to participate in Giving Tuesday Now. Here are just a few ideas to choose from:

  • Create art and share it online

  • Appreciate art - visit our event page to engage with others who are creating art.

  • Share why you support the arts - post your motivation to our event page.

  • Sign up to volunteer! Reach out to let us know how you might be interested in pitching in.

  • Become a Cultural Council member.

  • Make a contribution - like many nonprofit organizations, the Cultural Council of Cortland County has been impacted by economic changes of the current pandemic. Your support will help us make sure we continue to bring you community events - from First Fridays to Story Slams to the Regional Photography Exhibit.
